A big ripoff; don't bother with this ship.

I am sailing 38 days on oceania insignia from sydney to la. i have booked an inside cabin on a good floor (close to the open deck and close to the dining room). the cabin is also located mid-ship. sounds good? think again. it is across the hall from the linen closet and the servery. all night, every night, the housekeeping team of pretty much the whole floor uses the little space in front of our cabin to stage, so there are garbage bags, biohazard bags, housemen screaming at one another, dishes clanking, doors slamming, etc they also work with that door open. you get the picture. I get that they have to do their job, i just don't think it should be done in a place that is bothersome to guests...or that they should not have rooms there.

We had a 'mid cruise survey' where we provided comments on the cruise. on this survey, we highlighted the positives and the negatives, and said that our biggest problem was the noise each night was bothersome. each department head (except for the rooms guy) reached out to us to either thank us for suggestions or good remarks, or to ask us how they can improve. all, except for the executive concierge...who, after executive housekeeper had seemed to had found a solution came to see us without any real solution. if you want to pay 5 star price and have an overzealous department head make sure we know we are bothering him and have him go out of our way to find a fake solution (that is not a solution at all to our problem), then, this is the ship for you. they are not sold out and i can understand why now.

It is not written anywhere on the deck plans that this faces a linen closet and servery. i feel i have been mislead and that they are not taking responsibility for this issue. quite disappointing, especially with 30 days to go.
