We were very happy with Celebrity and the Summit. Although she is an older ship, there were no real issues with the age. If you look, you will easily find signs of rust, cracked tiles, etc, but in no way did it detract from our enjoyment of our Bermuda cruise.
Embarkation in Bayonne was a breeze, and the easiest and quickest embarkation we have ever encountered. (Debarkation was just as easy, and we would definitely prefer to leave from Bayonne for ALL future cruises!)
We loved all of the trivia and other games, and thought that the folks running these events were great. Rich - the cruise director - was great. However, our favorite folks were Mark and Justin. They really made everything they were in charge of FUN. It didn't matter if it was a regular trivia game, or one of the nightly Port v. Starboard challenges. If Mark or Justin was in charge, it was hysterical! We played just about every trivia and every game we could - other than a few during the time we were in port.
Our cabin was a normal size balcony cabin. Storage was adequate, and it was in good condition except for a little rust and some cracked bathroom tiles. Our stateroom attendant was Reggie, and he was as perfect as a stateroom attendant could be. Whenever we asked for anything, it was there by the time we returned to our stateroom. His assistant was quick and thorough when cleaning our stateroom. They were very attentive - whenever we saw them, they were always asking if there was anything else we needed. I would have to say it was the best service we have ever received from a stateroom attendant and assistant in all of our previous cruises.
Embarkation was smooth and fast! It was the easiest embarkation we have EVER experienced on ANY cruise! It was civilized and quiet - and a wonderful way to start our cruise!
There is nothing really near King's Wharf - you have to take a bus or ferry to get to the "real" Bermuda. Ferries and busses are convenient and run frequently enough to make things easy for anyone on a cruise.
