Sail Date: Dec 2008

We left on December 14, 2008 on our cruise. We were married on the Queen Mary the day before - were both in our med 30's and combined two families, so we took all 6 kids and many family members and friends on our cruise with us. Because of this I want to stress the most important thing that I am surprised I didn't read on any of the reviews. If you are going on a cruise with more than 2 people, bring walkie talkies. Like the small cheap one you can find at Wal-Mart or somewhere. We had a large group but the ship was so big we could hardly find our kids when we needed them. we saw other people with the walkie talkies and thought it was a great idea.

The embarkation wasn't very good the day we left, we happened to leave on the day that customs checks the crew and there was also a broken elevator and the held us up, but it was no ones fault and we finally made it on to the ship. The only bad thing was, because of all of the delays we didn't get our luggage till 8 pm. Everyone on the ship was looking for their luggage, there were piles of luggage throughout the halls. It was a mess, but I felt bad the the employees on the Pride, they were trying very hard to get everyones luggage to them.

We enjoyed the food very much. The kids were at a separate table and were taken very good care of by their waiter Chris. We had a great waiter also, his name was Jim. He took good care of us and his assistant Victor brought us Cappuccinos every night after dinner. We went to David Supper Club one night without the kids, it was so nice and so worth the $30 per person. We tipped our waited extra because they took good care of us. The creme brulee that was served on the first night was so good, get two of them because they don't serve it again! For breakfast you can east at the Normandie or at the Mermaids Grills where it is more like Cafeteria style. We ate at the Normandie every morning, it is quiet and nicer and you can relax while you eat.
