  3. Norwegian Getaway
Starting with embarkation, we were directed to a line, in which we waited 30 minutes, just to find we were directed to the wrong line. This cruise included 4 days at sea. The NCL web site made it sound like there would be plenty of entertainment while on board. However, during the day, it was limited to game show theme entertainment. All the good shows were in the evening, and seating was extremely limited. I booked a show via the menu on the tv in the room, just to show up at the show and the reservation had failed. The comedy show room is extremely small. The buffet food is virtually the same day after day. The non-specialty dining rooms are also very small. It seems the NCL Getaway is a much larger ship, by adding more decks to haul passengers, but they forgot to include more common areas/amenities. The onboard drink prices are already above a fair deal, and then every single purchase includes an 18% gratuity. At what point in time did a gratuity become mandatory? We had several issues with kids running up and down the corridors without any parents around. We complained to Guest Services, but they said there isn't much they can do unless they see it. Of course, they were never in the hallways to see anything. I figure NCL must have ran a family special or something for so many kids to have been on board. We wanted a romantic cruise for our 35th anniversary... NCL really let us down. If you're looking for a family vacation, where you don't have to watch your kids, then this is the cruise for you.
