I always say best cruise ever, but then I've never had a bad cruise. We traveled b2b, the first segment being with friends and the second by ourselves. We ate dinner with our friends each night in Cosmopolitan Restaurant the first week (Luminae for delicious breakfasts), and the second week, we mostly ate at Luminae. Luminae, which is new to the fleet, is marvelous. We were very impressed with the food quality, presentation, and service. We mostly ate 3 meals a day there, and I can't say enough. The ship is lovely, and we have now sailed 5 times on her. We enjoyed our dancing to the accommodating house band, Bandmates, and enjoyed listening to Andrea Lisa Quartet's jazz renderings. All staff were friendly, Bermuda was beautiful, and the weather was mostly very good. Trivia was offered twice a day, and we older folks appreciated that.

We did not take any shore excursions and mostly stayed on board, since this was probably our 8th cruise to Bermuda. Aqua Spa Café provided an alternative to Luminae lunches when lighter fare was desired, and we enjoyed the Solarium while docked in Bermuda. It was well maintained, with the pool butler clearing unused loungers of abandoned towels and such. Disembarkation was a breeze, with Jole, the Michael's Club Concierge, escorting us and others to the disembarkation point. Embarkation, sadly, was not as easy. Those folks at Cape Liberty Cruise Terminal (not Celebrity employees) need to get their act together. They directed us to an area to wait for further instructions that never came. After we got up to inquire, they still told us to wait. Most people were on board by the time we just got up and boarded on our own. This was, I suppose, their version of the priority boarding given to suite guests. We had embarkation lunch at Bistro on Five after our visit to Michael's Club for some early treats. The second leg of our b2b began with an embarkation lunch at Bistro on Five, although Luminae was available to us also. We did have dinner at Normandie twice, but we ended up preferring Luminae. Prior to Luminae's availability, we always enjoyed Normandie's fare. It's still wonderful, but we actually had to decide if we really wanted to do Normandie that second week.

Cabin Review

Celebrity Suite

Cabin CS

We loved the large windows and apartment-like appearance of the CS. Our stateroom, attendant, Maria, provided the best service we've ever had. Su, our butler, was our favorite on all of our cruises. The room is beautiful, and I recommend it highly. The bathroom is the only awkward feature, with entry and exit to the tub being hampered by the bathroom size and design. Having a tub mat does a lot to alleviate the problem, and our requested one was in place when we arrived in the room. It's the only category of room we've booked on Celebrity, and we've already booked one for next year. We were allowed into the room during the turnaround for our b2b, so that made it very convenient. Maria made up the room early in anticipation of our entering soon after our short trip through Customs.
