Spent 2 1/2 days in Seattle prior to cruise and loved it. So much to do and see. Purchased City Passes and did everything. Saved a ton of money by doing that. Stayed at The Mediterrean Inn which was nice. Got to see Mt. Rainer on the day we were leaving. What a site!
In terms of experiences, this was the best ever. The scenery, landscape, wildlife met all my expectations. We did the seaplane and lunch at Take Lodge which was awesome. Also did the train ride which we loved.
The ship experience itself was okay. This was my 8th cruise (5th on NCL) and I think I am starting to get "pickier". Older ship. Food and entertainment was just okay. I've had worse and I've had better. Room steward was great and room was well taken care of. Wait staff were good. Only time the ship felt crowded was when you went to the buffet for breakfast. It was a quiet, non party like cruise which was nice.
I had to have an aft-facing balcony for Alaska and it was worth every penny although the room itself was more cramped than I expected.
Spent 2 days in Seattle prior to leaving on the cruise. Loved Seattle. Purchased the city pass and did a lot in 2 days. The port area was very clean
We decided not to do an excursion here and instead just walked around town, had lunch, etc. we had a great time. It is a town with a lot of history and original buildings
Best part of the trip. We had an aft facing balcony which was perfect for cruising Glacier bay. Words and pictures cannot describe the beauty. We got to see one of the glaciers calving. We saw tons of sea lions and seals basking on islands.
We walked around the hiking trails, shopped, ate lunch and took a shuttle (no charge) into town. Going into town was great because it is a traditional Alaskan town. Loved it!
