Before booking this trip I checked the reviews and should have taken warnings. We gave it try but should have passed. The staff was for the most part very helpful. Although We did encounter a few that just did not care and suggested you place a comment in the comment box. What good would that do in the moment? The itinerary was the best part of the cruise. The food that was included in the fare was bad and not very good at the specialty dinning either, $30.00 cover charge at the Cagney's Steakhouse for a microwaved steak. No steakhouse in my opinion! And the worst I have tried in the fleet. Le Bistro was great. The Windows dinning room that is complimentary was a hit or miss. The buffet was BAD! Serving the Same food over and over again and many times cold.

The ship is old and UGLY! Our stateroom was terrible with old furnishing and old dirty carpet. The bathroom was rusty and old, tiles were not very clean. Definetly not your home away from home. We stayed in a balcony stateroom for three that was very uncomfortable and the third person that paid a full fare slept on the sofa that turned into a very small uncomfortable bed. Our steward would not clean our room regularly. The worst service ever on Norwegian.

I would not recommend this ship, instead try the EPIC which was 100 times better. This ship is in dire need of Refurbushing and the service was very disappointing, especially since I have traveled many times with Norwegain before and have become accustomed to certain level of service & standards. Unfortunately, thie Norwegains Spirit fell far below the expectation levels we had. They even charged a $7.95 convenience fee for room service regardless of the time you place your order, normally $5.95 after midnight on other ships. Overall not worth money!
