We stayed at the Hampton Inn Brickell Miami, lovely modern hotel, they provide a shuttle bus to the cruise terminal only $8. At the cruise terminal a NCL employee took our bags threw them on a trolley and stood there waiting for a tip, seeing everyone gets charged a service fee of $12.95 from day one I thought that was a bit much, went to check in at the latitudes desk and the guy was going through our passports a couple of times when I asked whats up?

he said I have to check your visas, well how did we get into the US if they weren't up to date, then he asked if we had sailed with NCL before? well hello we were at the latitudes counter and have sailed with them four times, then he finally asked a supervisor who took two seconds to look at the passports and said thats fine, not a good start. Make no mistake this is a big ship however they have also made the cabins smaller, no drawers for your cloths just shelves and the balconies are very small, room service now has a service fee for any hot food. The food in the restaurants is very good and the staff friendly and attentive although the chefs at the Flamingo Bar & Grill were a bit grumpy. O'sheenan's Irish Bar was great, friendly staff cold beer good burgers and buffalo wings.

Cigarette smoke through three levels of the ship coming from the casino not good and having children walking through the casino wasn't ideal. Entertainment fantastic, Legally Blonde was great my wife said it was better then the Broadway show she had seen the week earlier, Burn THe Floor great dance show Shannon Mc Nally in the Grammy Experience was fantastic. The main theatre is smaller then any cruise ship we've been on and you have to book a seat for the shows in advance.

St. Thomas

Went with a private company called Godfreys they met us at the ship and took us to town for a one and half hour shop then they picked us up and took us up the mountain top, very good great views of the bays and islands free banana daiquiris at the top also a rum punch at the Botanical Gardens lovely place to walk around.

Miami

Take the Metromover its clean free and runs every ten minutes when in the Brickell district go to the Brckell Village for great places to eat, also you can take the metro mover to the Bayside shopping village where you'll find market stalls and lots of places to eat.
