We flew to Seattle and rode the Link Light Rail directly from the airport to the last stop (Westlake Center) downtown for $3 per person. We stayed at the Homewood Suites/Convention Center which is about 5 block from the Westlake center - uphill with luggage, but fine. They have reasonable downtown rates and offer a wonderful breakfast. There are several places within walking distance to get dinner. We also walked to Walgreens and picked up a couple of 12 pack sodas to carry on the ship, to cut down on drink costs. From there you can get a cab for about $14 for 3 or 4 people to the pier. We used Yellow Cab - ride was quick and easy.

Embarkation was wonderful. No issues whatsoever. Our bags were in our room within an hour of arriving onboard. They immediately had the lunch available on the Lido deck and things went extremely smooth.

Our room was not cleaned well. Basically the sheets were changed and the sink was wiped out, but that's about it. I had to clean the room before we could unpack. For instance, the small table in the room was covered with sticky and there was a handprint on our mirror that stayed all week and I had to clean the toilet. The cabin itself was well layed out and had a lot of storage. Drawers under the bed, above the love seat, medicine cabinet in the bathroom as well as a shelf below the sink. We had a verandah cabin on the 6th floor. Great view. We had a 3rd person in the room, so we had a pull out love seat. We asked for an egg crate mattress cover for the pull out and it was delivered and put on the bed, which helped a great deal.

Port Reviews

Victoria

This is a beautiful city. We got off the boat and took a $10 cab ride into town. The only problem is that we arrived at around 6:00 p.m. and a lot of the shops were closed or closing. It's worth a walk through town to take a few photos of the beautiful buildings and port area. I would prefer to get these additional 6 hours added to one of the ports in Alaska!
