Being a solo traveler of 85 years, it seems that I am one of those awful old folks mentioned in many reviews. Sorry we get in your way, but we just don't move quite as fast as we did when we were your age. We do enjoy meeting other cruisers who have "been there, done that" and want to share their adventures around the dinner table. Most of us enjoy the shows in the theater when we can find a seat there. Grabbing a lounge around the pool in the daytime can also be a problem when folks leave their towels on it and go off for lunch.

My balcony cabin was kept in perfect condition by my great steward, Bernardino. He greeted me by name each time we met in the hall. The servers in the Palm dining room were also extremely helpful with a smile for everyone as we arrived, and suggestions for the evening's special dishes.

The casino isn't my cup of tea, so I didn't venture there unless I was headed to the theater. Not one to enjoy cocktails, I didn't meet bar tenders. I am, however, fond of wine with lunch and dinner, and purchased the seven bottle package upon sailing. Each open bottle was kept for me in spite of dining one place for lunch and another in the evening.

Cabin BD

Plenty of room for a solo traveler. Lots of hangers, great shelf and drawer space, fine little refrigerator, nice TV. It would be nice to find one station with classical music. It did occur for the first five or six nights with the camera on the bow, but then became silence on that channel. I did mention it to the service desk, but it never returned. Oh yes, please do something with that impossible shower curtain on the extremely tiny shower. My mind boggles to imagine anyone a bit overweight trying to wash up.

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

I flew from my home near Tampa to Fort Lauderdale in time to board. Airline scheduling had me at the port earlier than my boarding time, but it was not something I could control. The elite boarding line was very long.

King's Wharf

Due to weather conditions, we did not dock at Bermuda. We did, however, make a nice port call in the Azores. Docking next to the larger Royal Princess, our passengers had a problem finding last minute excursion transportation.
