The crew was fabulous, so kind and helpful in every aspect. We had awesome weather. We flew into Seattle and took their transfer bus to the pier. That was nice because we didn't have to deal with our luggage after the airport. We got to the pier at 1:30 and didn't get on the ship until 3pm. There was a line that you waited in to go up an escalator, then another line to go through security and then another line to get you room card. I was thirsty, tired and grouchy and we had to rush to the lifeboat drill. First day at sea was dreary and windy so seas were rocking but nothing to scary. Managed to walk the promenade deck 3 times around to make a mile and your mostly protected under the lifeboats so it wasn't too cold. The entertainment in the Vista Lounge was top notch. The singers and dancers were wonderful and so talented. The drink servers before each show were entertaining so it was like two shows for one. We had a comedian one night that was very funny and then the traveling group of "Recycled Percussion" another night. We only ate in the dining room one night but it was very good. I had a chilled raspberry soup that I could have eaten a bucket load of. We like the Lido Restaurant for the variety. Can't speak for the Bistro station, but the salads, pastas and pizza, and the dessert were very good. We did discover to not get the no sugar added desserts - NOT GOOD. We didn't do any shore excursions and just walked around the ports doing shopping. Cute towns but since they are so tourist driven I wouldn't want to live there. Disembarkation was much easier going, left the ship, got our luggage, turned in our custom form and got on the bus for the airport.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean-View Verandah Stateroom

Cabin VC

Our cabin was at the back of the ship on the port side on Verandah Deck. Very quiet, there was an adjoining cabin forward to us and never heard them unless we both were on the balcony. They smoked and when the ship is in motion you would get the smell. The balcony was nice for glacier bay but could be windy and cold when ship was going 20 knots. Tons of storage. Drawers under the sofa, and at the foot of each bed. Even the stool at the desk had opened for storage. We had the beds split to two twins and we each had a night stand with two drawers. There were three closets, two with hangers and one with shelves and the safe (some people think its a microwave and why it won't work!?!) The bathroom has a shower/tub combo and we appreciated the complimentary shampoo/conditioner/body that was provided. The medicine cabinet has 3 shelves and there is a shelf underneath the sink. We kept reusing our towels and they do towel animals every night at turn down service so you can acquire a lot of towels in a week if you don't put them on the floor for the stewards

Port Reviews

Seattle

I will have to go back to actually see the town, our bus driver did point out areas of interest when we drove to the pier. The airport is about 30 minutes from the pier

Juneau

Very windy when we got off the ship. Paid for a bus ride out to Mendenhall Glacier $20 per person round trip. Shopping right at the pier. All the stores have the same sort of souveniers, don't worry if you miss one, they will be at the next port.

Glacier Bay

Glacier was so loud with all the popping, creaking, groaning, no large calvings but small ones were very loud. The ship is turned veeeeerrrrrrrryyyyyy slowly around for both sides to see the glacier. Nice to have the balcony but any of the open decks will have a view.
