We knew the demographics of this cruise when we chose the ship. We are in our early fifties and most people we have met are older than us or if they are our age, don't speak English. That has made for entertaining shared-table dining at lunch and dinner. Everyone is friendly on this ship. The staff is highly professional and often invisibly provides all the pampering and care to details you could want.

I had the best massage ever in the spa and the best Irish coffee one chilly day up on deck. A late night hot chocolate from the cafe on deck 5 is just what the doctor ordered. The food is gourmet quality in the formal dining room, and while a bit if a zoo in the open dining area, the food choices are spoiling me completely. However, in 2 weeks I haven't heard top 40 music except for during the first few hours on the ship while everyone was bording. I've heard the DJ plays it but have yet to stumble upon it. We found ourselves back in our rooms most nights by 10 because we were not finding activities other than shopping to do that we liked. Good movies were available on Demand on TV both free snd for $, so we would often do that or read.

The Captain's announcemences are the wittiest I've ever heard and Luigi has been very entertaining as an activity director. Would I recommend this ship to others: only if they are retirement age. They will be thrilled. If you are younger, bring a full ipod, some cards, a full Kindle and be prepared to people watch. If you like to drink alcohol, you will find some great bars.

Cabin Review

Ocean View 8

The bed and pillows are just ok. We asked for extra padding on our bed which helped. There was plenty of storage space, a good sized shower and the attendant always kept it clean.

Port Reviews

Tallinn

Lovely port. Bought handmade mittens and a rose from a florist stall. It rained while we ate outdoors under a heated, covered venue, Where the service was slow but they gsve us blankets to keep warm. I liked this port a lot.

Helsinki

Loved the Hop on Hop off bus option. Save the tickets for discounts on their buses in Stockholm snd Denmark. We saw the Rock Church, strolled through a park and along the shore away from other tourists. We saw plenty of things, and I would love to go back to Helsinki.

Stockholm

Nice city, McDonalds tastes better here than in the US. Lots of things to see and do, but not a lot of time in port. The hop on hop off bus was a great way to get around.

Copenhagen

We rented a car in Fredericia (called weeks in advanced) and drove along a perfectly easy to navigate highwsy to Egeskov Castle. There were 2 floors and an attic open to the public. The grounds in early may were not all in bloom. We escaped most of the crowds by going to the right off the main walkway (all gravel paths) and wslking around behind the castle. Beautiful tulip garden and views of the castle. Loved the antique cars and carriages.

Amsterdam

We stayed here a day before the cruise and it was crowded but fun. It is a city I would love to make as a sole destination. The people all spoke English well and there were endless postcard perfect streets to look st. Wish i had more time to rent a bike and see things.
