Sail Date: May 2015
Cabin: Aft-View Extended Balcony

This was our seventh cruise, but first on Carnival. We have also sailed on BOTS, Pearl, Mercury, Norway (in 1996 before the boiler explosion), and FOTS. My wife and I rate this cruise #2 out of seven, only because #1 is the Panama Canal on BOTS in 2006.

Our last cruise was on the NCL Pearl to Alaska, last May. 10 day through the inside passage from Vancouver, to Seattle. The food was so bad in the main dining room, that our companions and ourselves were forced to spend $300 a couple eating in the specialty restaurants to avoid the main dining room cuisine.

Carnival Freedom? Ate in the main dining room every night and loved it. Why would would you spend the extra money when you can eat wonderfully for the price of your cruise? We and our companions were in 7449 and 7451 aft with connected balconies. Very cool!

Cabin Review

Aft-View Extended Balcony

Cabin 8M

Our room was nothing special but clean and functional. As mentioned, the connecting balconies with our friends was fantastic. The many bars and public areas were very tasteful, as opposed to the old Joe Farcas loud designs that we have heard about from other friends who cruised older Carnival ships.

Our cabin was always meticulously cleaned by our cabin attendant and she was always unobtrusive.

Port Reviews

Galveston

The cruise terminal is old but embarkation was smooth and quick. An upgrade of the entire terminal is needed. Carnival employees manning the stations were extremely cordial and well informed
