Viking Legend Review

Loved it and would do a river cruise again, but some improvements still needed.

Pros

Viking look after you brilliantly. They met us at Budapest airport, got us on the bus and had three reps at the Marriott Hotel the three days we stayed there. When we were departing, we had to be out the cabin at 9.00am and were not due to be picked up until 1.45pm and we were allowed to use ship’s facilities until then, including a free lunch and drink. Rep met us at Munich airport to make sure we had no problem checking in.

On the cruise the Viking staff on the Viking Legend could not have been better and more accommodating. Erica from housekeeping was outstanding. Vlad – Programme Manager and the Hotel Manager also deserve a special mention for excellent service. Cabins were smallish but perfect for what we needed. An excellent safe, a good powerful shower and great mattress. TV had BBC World Service and Sky Sports One.

Budapest

Great place for a 4/5 day visit. something for everyone. Chain bridge, funicular rail/train, Royal Palace, Parliament, Margaret Island, citadel and statue on the way up, thermal baths, Freedom and Elizabeth bridges, shoe memorial at the Danube, evening sail up and down city all lit up – did them all and wish we had done more.
