The cruise from Boston on the Dawn is an excellent itinerary, with three days on the island and three sea days perfect for relaxing. My husband and I live about a 45 minute drive from the pier, so no flying. We are on the ship about and hour from leaving home. This is our fourth cruise to Bermuda, second time on the Dawn. The first sea day on this trip there was a Nor’easter out at sea and the Dawn went through it. It was a very bumpy 24 hours. We got sea sick in the afternoon, very dizzy, laying down was our only option. Finally around 5 pm the sun came out and the sea calmed down. We have never been sea sick before, but the length of time did us in. I was told we were not alone, both crew and passengers were sick.

I know there have been comments about the Dawn but we found her in great shape. The only thing I would change is the tired greenery in the spa and the atrium. I think just taking it away would be a huge improvement. We were told the ship was full this trip, yet there was plenty of room, lots of chairs near the pool and around the decks, and we never waited for any restaurant.

Our goal on a cruise is to relax, and this trip is perfect. We did not go to the casino, we did go to the library and fitness center. We enjoy trying the different specialty restaurants, and the shows. The entertainment was exceptionally good, the musicians at every venue were excellent. We ate at Bamboo one night, and enjoyed the jazz piano from Gatsby's. The sound fills that entire area. Patti and Jose performed again on this cruise, they are fabulous as usual. We are not late night people, but there was plenty of activities planned late at night for those who are.

Cabin Review

Aft-Facing Penthouse with Large Balcony

Cabin SF

The penthouse suite on deck 10 is outstanding. The balcony is a bit larger on deck 10 plenty of room for two loungers. The view in Bermuda is of the harbor, and the dock. The extra perks that come with a suite really make a difference. Breakfast and Lunch at Cagney's, and being given the chance to be the first off the ship in Bermuda, and being escorted off back in Boston save quite a bit of stress. The location is good, not a huge walk to the stairs and elevators. It is very quiet, we didn't notice any noise with the spa above and cabins below.
