We chose to cruise on the Norwegian Breakaway from New York to Bermuda as it enabled us to visit friends in New York and to spend time in Bermuda, an Island I know well. As a first timer I was also unsure of whether I would enjoy the experience onboard. My partner used to work on ships so was a lot more used to having his 'sea legs'.

I have certainly overcome that uncertainty and found the cruise very enjoyable despite the weather at times being poor and the seas somewhat rough! We had a spa mini suite which was very comfortable for two and there was plenty of space, the bathroom was very good and perhaps the only criticism is the small balcony but we hardly used it.

Having chosen the ultimate dining package we enjoyed the speciality restaurants, highlights being La Bistro and the Teppanyaki, perhaps our only poor experience was Moderno. Food was generally excellent.

Excellent, plenty of space and storage for two.

Port Reviews

New York (Manhattan)

Pier 88 is little old and tired looking but could not fault the efficient boarding process. Stayed at a hotel just one block from the Pier so a short walk from the hotel but getting to hotel from JFK on a Friday evening was a nightmare.

New York is of course a fantastic city and I never tire of visiting.
