Carnival Valor Cruise April 18-25 Stateroom #7-392 balcony (7th floor). Here are the highlights of the cruise: 1. best entertainment especially the comedy shows (Eagle Lounge) and the juggler act in the Ivan Theater evening show. 2. Good DJ overall and entertainment on the Lido deck where the main pool is located. Very fun and lively. 3. Various food options with 24 hour accessibility to food. The food was overall very good. A highlight was the amount of food available at any time and options. The pizza place was AMAZING!(referencing one of the comics) 4. Well kept and clean rooms. The steward was very experienced, friendly, and accessible at all times. This specific balcony room (7-392) was portside view of Aruba, Bonaire, and Grand Turk and of the sunset on return trip back to Florida. A big tip we can offer is related to excursions. We found the best excursions outside of the Carnival site on cruise critics and used those. The excursions we picked were Aruba Motorcycle Tours and Horseback in Bonaire. We saw on cruise critics that for the Grand Turk port visit there are plenty of things to do nearby the boat without having to book excursions including a free public beach and Margaritaville. In addition, there are plenty of shops and restaurants also within a short walking distance. The duty free shop at this port sold very reasonably priced alcohol. Some feedback on improvements for this cruise would be that the Lido Deck (main pool deck) entertainer (solo guitarist and singer, DJ) was loud and not at the level of talent expected for a cruise ship or major tourist area. The noise level of her singer was actually disturbing and all people surrounding us agreed that she was loud and not good. We moved to the other side of the ship to escape her. Another area for improvement is the amount of smoke in the casino. The smell of smoke made gambling in the small sized casino on this ship uncomfortable and I'm an ex-smoker. The dining staff were professional and competent but lacked in personality on this trip. He gave us good service though. Only one time at breakfast was our meal incorrect, so overall it was a good experience. The piano bar singer could sing but was not nearly as fun as other cruises. He wasn't very interactive except to ask for song requests. It was never crowded which is unusual. Since my last cruise the drinks have even gotten even more limited. Having to go to the bar each time under the soda package and not being able to take a soda out of the rooms refrigerator is ridiculous. I think the assistant concierge was over her head because the lines were long for breakfast. Didn't find the concierge heart-warming either. The average age of cruisers on this ship during this week were over the age of 60 and married couples. By no means can the Carnival control this. Just an observation. None of the above ruined our cruise. I based it on the 7 other cruises I have taken. It was an enjoyable cruise and the staff was pleasant. The cruise was very clean and entertaining. Looking forward to another Carnival cruise! WE HAD FUN!

We booked the Aruba Motorcycle Tour and rented a Road King Harley Davison for four hours on our own. We saw this trip on Cruise Critics - the excursion section and saw it was highly recommended. The website was well kept and easy to use and booking the trip online was very easy with good communication.

Pick up was near the ship. Lucienne drove us to the shop to pick up the motorcycle. We dropped off the motorcycle at the pickup point where Lucienne took possession of it. How convenient is that! We wish we could have rented it for the whole day but our ship came in at 1pm and Lucienne does not let you ride at night. That is understandable. Highlight of this trip was being able to explore the island on our own with quick instructions of the bike and specific Aruba traffic tips from Lucienne including a map of the island. Driving in Aruba is on the right side. We would highly recommend this trip and way to tour the island. This company was easy to work with, affordable, and reliable owners.

Horseback riding: Horse Ranch Bonaire http://www.horseranchbonaire.com or info@horseranchbonaire.com

We found horseback riding as an option on two of our ports (Bonaire & Grand Turk) and picked this specific excursion out of Bonaire for the following reasons: (a) value - this tourism company / ranch had the longest riding time period for the lowest rate and included convenient transfers to / from the ship and ranch; (b) quick response time via email during the planning phase prior to taking our trip; (c) prior reviews we had read that gave this company a positive rating.

Our boat docking and pick up time for the excursion were both 8am and we took the chance and trusted the time would work out. We were assured by the company owner Simone prior to booking that they would wait for us and they did. Another point to keep in mind that we wondered prior to being on the excursion was if the allotted time for the excursion included travel time in case we had a delay exiting the ship and we were told that any delay would not affect the full time period for the excursion. Simone is very focused on customer service and satisfaction.

When we arrived at the horse ranch, the horses were well cared for and in healthy shape as well as the entire ranch. The owners appeared to sincerely care for their ranch and all the horses. We were greeted with warm smiles and friendly staff who assisted us prepare for the ride. The trail was extremely beautiful and peaceful as we rode along natural habitats include mangrove trees surrounded by flamingos, salt mines, and one of the clearest and brightest areas of the ocean I have ever seen. We were able to ride the horse into a calm area of the ocean (without waves) briefly and experience being with a horse riding through the water bareback. We would highly recommend this excursion for anyone with any level of experience with horses.
