We were asked to join some family members on this cruise, so we did not do a lot of research prior. We travel a great deal & love cruising. The positives: Viking Lofn is a beautiful ship, the food was excellent, as were most of the staff. We had Peter as our waiter, & he was just exceptional.

The negatives: 1- though the Rhine is beautiful, many of the ports are far from where the excursions take you. Lots of time on a bus which we found tiresome. Also up & out early almost every morning.

2- we did the pre cruise in Lucerne. Though Viking says you will wait no longer than 30 minutes for transport, we waited an hour. Ugh! Read more
