Always wanted to go to Catalina with my wife, but she could not handle the smaller boats out to the Island. Problem solved, we took the "Big" boat. This was about our 20th cruise and it met all of our expectations as a quick getaway.

Booked with only a few days to go to make sure weather was going to be good and ended up in a part of the ship we usually don't get rooms. (Just above Club fusion at the back of the ship.) As it turned out the back mini suite with the wrap around balcony was great and no noise form below. The balcony turned out to be a great highlight to this room, so we spent several hours there enjoying the ocean, books and a bottle of wine.

Embarkation was normal except parking control was poor. After we were just about to board, an announcement was made indicating the area I had parked in required a permit, though it was not posted. Had to take a half hour later to move it and they had posted traffic control in the area this time.

Love the Mini Suites and this one did not disappoint. We spent a lot of time out on this deck and service was great.
