As Bronze Latitude members(lowest of the low), we got booked in very easily, but then left in the terminal until the very last group to board on Cabin choice! The ship and cabins are great, the crew and Staff members go out of their way to please you, until you get to the Cruise Concierge desk with a problem......
Freestyle cruising to me, is eat anywhere anytime you like, to Breakaway, eat anywhere, but make a reservation, to find that except for one item, all the menus are the same, every day! We made a reservation for the 5.30 dinner time in the Manhattan Room(The largest Dining Salon), arrived at 5.20, only to find a long line, I went up to the desk, told them we had reservations, only to be told, you have to go back to the end of the line, reservations have no preference over the "Chancers", who haven't made a reservation. Went to the Concierge Desk and were told the same.....NCL.........WHAT IS THE POINT IN THE RESERVATION SYSTEM IF YOU DON'T HONOUR IT????????????? We(tried to) eat at O'Sheehans bar and Grill, to find the food(and we weren't the only ones) at best bland, at worst inedible. I ordered Fish and Chips, the fish looked like two Egg Rolls, which when cut with a knife, oil ran out of it and filled the basket. The French Fries were so dry, I could have laced my workboots with them.
Bar staff were great, but we paid our Gratuities up front and signed up for the Ultimate Beverage package, to find there was an 18% gratuity to each order, it wasn't until we questioned this, the payments were cancelled, but still remained on each bill!
