We sailed to Cozumel, Roatan, Belize, and Costa Maya. Embarkation was pretty smooth. I love Port Canaveral. Now about the ship. I felt it was decorated nicely and did not feel overcrowded. The buffet on the lido deck was better then it has been on other ships. The new water slides and sky course were neat for kids. I did not like the main pool area as the pool was mostly shaded by the big screen and upper deck. There were only two hot tubs and they were always full. There were two tiki huts next too the pool that took up space. I think two more hot tubs would have been a better use.

The cabins were ok but seemed smaller then other Carnival ships I have been on. There was very little drawer space for your clothes and no bedside table etc. they stopped putting chocolate on your pillows. The air conditioner did not work great in the middle and rear part of the ship. The cabins and elevators were hot. In the past you always saw people cleaning but not on this ship. It seems Carnival cut back with there 2.0 series. I thought it was going to be the opposite. There seemed to be less staff all around. I called guest services one time and got an automated system.

I never saw all the casino tables open. The cruise director seemed to be leading everything. Entertainment was good but they only had one thing going on at one time. The shows including the comedy shows were short. They only had three or four real shows which I was disappointed about. They saved all the popular activities such as the married game, hairy chest contest, towel folding, etc to the last day. I never saw them hand out the famous ship on a stick either so I guess they cut those out too. We had the worst room steward we have ever had. The only thing he ever said was hi. In regards to ports we left Costa Maya at 2 pm so you did not have a lot of time to do anything. I have sailed several times on Carnival and will do so again but I hope this experience is not repeated. I understand saving money but if it's impacting the guest in a negative way it might not be such a hot idea. One other thing is Carnival needs to change their drinking package known as the Cheers program. It is more expensive then Royal Carribean and they require everyone in the cabin over 21 to buy it. That's a ripoff.
