Thumbs down for the Pearl! This was our first cruise on NCL and most likely our last. Was very unimpressed with the food. The buffets were the same every day, the main dining rooms were very boring plus the service was somewhat slow. We did enjoy the French restaurant and the Italian was ok. Cagney's, was hoping to get a surf n turf, but did not have it. I know it's a steak house, but there was only one fish on menu (see bass), which wasn't very good. The Chinese dining was awful. I've been on ships that have a Chinese Wok and hot deli. The Pearl had neither. Most of the desserts we had looked good, but were very bland.

The biggest joke was the way the Stardust Palace was set up. There is only one way to get in/out of the left & right sections. Were always getting up & down to let people in and out. Very distracting. The Carnival ships we been on had lots a leg room plus tables to put your drinks. I was charged $15 corkage fee before we even boarded. I've been on other cruise lines that only charge it if they open it for you. I know there was a sanitation clean up problem going on, but we all waited in line for 2 hours with no information. The captain barely had any communication with us once we were at sea. A positive: the staff did a great job during the cruise adapting to the novo virus problem from the previous cruise.... They were lacking in all the little things that Carnival provides for their guests. The pools were good size. The spa was way over priced. Our housekeeper (Wilber) was very good. The dining service wasn't too good. Sometimes the bread came a round, sometimes he didn't. Same for the bar service at the dining rooms. While departing, one of our suitcases were misplaced and we waiting on the airport shuttle for an hour with no explanation. Don't think I'll be sailing with NCL again!

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony

Cabin was just ok. We liked Carnivals better.
