Embarkation - The worst fiasco I have ever experienced in any type of travel. The ship was delayed in arrival due to the fog. It was never made clear who was holding the ship's arrival, Carnival, Coast Guard or the Port Authority. Carnival has not advance notification system in place so many guests were arriving to embark on schedule. The parking lots quickly filled to capacity as the debarking passengers were still at sea. Many guest surrendered their cars unaware there was a long term problem with the ship's arrival. Many guests spend more than 12 hours without food and water sitting on the floor of the cruise terminal. We waited 3 hours for a parking space and then 3 more hours on the cruise terminal floor. 2,600 guests sat and stood without any information, food or water. This was not a great way to start the cruise.

We finally sailed about 1:00 am...without a muster drill. The crew re-scheduled the muster drill but failed to make a proactive announcement. Many people were turned away from breakfast because they had to participate in the muster drill.

Port of Call - was changed from Cozumel to Progresso because we were so late in departing. This was a serious disappointment for most guests. There are very few shore excursions for Progresso. We were delayed again in departing Progresso due to the very long lines to return to the ship. Read more
