I have taken 26 cruises all over the World with many different cruise lines, the only one I had not done was P & O - what a huge disappointment! We were looking forward to a brand new Ship and assumed that P & O would 'push the boat out'! Sadly this was not the case. Poor Service in Meridian Restaurant many times, waiters surly, miserable and disinterested, food quality was of a good standard in main restaurants. Horizon only offered water at lunchtimes but NO ICE - unbelievable! Food was often cold and repetitive, you had to line up to get a tray, knife & fork this reminded me of a staff canteen, or a motorway services, awful coffee. We got the impression that P & O just wanted guests to spend even more money on the speciality restaurants, coffees and decent cakes. The outside grill, pizza, burgers, chips etc were often cold and of poor quality. P & O say this ship is aimed at families however, they charge £1.95 for a small 'Mr. Whippy' ice cream this is not family friendly, I have never been charged for an ice cream on a cruise ship before! Little or no entertainment during the day, just several different ways to improve your wellbeing? this is cheap for P & O but extremely boring, listening to a 22 year old advising you how to look after your feet, hands, back, neck etc. The evening entertainment was of a good standard but the Theatre seating very small and uncomfortable. Ship was nicely decorated with browns and creams, small balconies but adequate, cabins were an adequate size with a good choice of TV films, we spent a lot of time watching TV as weather was poor and no daytime entertainment available. Bathroom was small, a tight squeeze getting out of shower. Kettle, tea, coffee and biscuits provided in cabin was a nice surprise. There seems to be some very stupid designs and decisions in the making of this Ship which are very annoying for their guests. Overall, we did not think this was good value for the price paid, we would not recommend to family an friends, there are many options leaving Southampton, shop around and try the other cruise lines to compare. I feel P & O think it's OK as they have a loyal following and we British will put up with anything?

Disappointed with P & O!

Excellent place to visit, incredible place this is a must. The only downside was we did not spend enough time there, this should be a full day and not half day tour as the journey to/from takes an hour.

Very good however we have been to Florence before so knew our way around. We used this just to get us into the City. Charges for coach trip is very expensive but trying to do this alone is tiresome and difficult to get direct rout into Florence City Centre
