We too experienced all the woes of embarkation but understood it was necessary to keep us all safe from getting sick which would have kept us confined to our cabins on this beautiful cruise.
This was our first sail on the Pearl and our 7th cruise with Norwegian.
We had a great time on this Eastern Caribbean cruise which was much like the Southern Caribbean we took a few years ago.
We enjoyed the shore excursions and the time we shared with our new friends. The Tortola Party Tour was our first excursion. Our driver, Ray, was very kind and probably never has a boring day! This was our first party tour - it definitely kept us entertained, the tour of the island was beautiful and we quickly became friends with others on the tour.
The Catamaran & Lobster tour in Antigua booked through the ship was one of favorites. The site seeing was beautiful, the crew was so attentive to all of us, the lobster lunch was amazing, and the water and beaches were just what I dreamed about. Dennis and Jo Ann, our new friends from the party tour, just happened to be on this excursion as well. We learned later that their cabin was just three down from us.
Fort de France, Martinique was our least favorite tour; however, our tour guide from Iowa was very knowledgeable. We visited a nice beach on our tour and was a great photo stop.
While in St. Kitts, we took the 4x4 Island Safari & Beach tour as we had already done the scenic railway tour on a previous trip. This was a fun tour and very scenic. The 4x4 vehicles were amazingly comfortable given the rough roads on this tour. We drove through a pretty and lush forest, old sugar fields, saw beautiful views of the ocean, and visited a nice beach towards the end of the tour.
The color of the water at Megen's Bay is very dramatic. The beach and grounds are very crowded though. It is very much worth the visit if you haven't been there before but we have visited other beaches that compare favorably.
The entertainment was very good. Avalon was my favorite band followed by Roots Link. I wish I could have purchased a CD of Avalon but was told they have not recorded one. The entertainment in The Stardust Theater was very good. We very much enjoyed "Swing"; the show band; variety show, Flashback Four, Legends in Concert including the tribute to the officers, staff and crew; and the Crew Talent Show!
Our cabin steward was so good to us and we looked forward to seeing the towel animals he made for us each night.
Our only serious pet peeve is those that save pool deck chairs. This is a problem on every cruise so this is no surprise, just annoying.
Hello to Tom and Kat and Dennis and Jo Ann!
Hope to be back soon!
Very comfortable. Sliding door was very hard to unlock. Plenty of storage. Room was very quiet. Murial was a very kind steward. We saw him speaking with parents and small children and he is very kind to children. That was very impressive.
