This was our 2nd cruise on the Carnival Spirit and the first cruise was so good that we booked another to the same destinations, however the 2nd cruise was dissapointing, maybe because we expected too much after the 1st one. The cruise was actually delayed for 1 day due to heavy seas, but carnival refunded 1 days fees and gave us $50 room credit each, which was very good. The ship is beginning to show some signs of its age, the decor is also a bit over the top. Activities on board are good for a couple of days, but soon become boring and repeatative. The service is very good all over the ship. Port excursions are not cheap booking via the ship and as we had been before we went onshre and booked onshore (a lot cheaper) The cabins are not a bad size (2 people) and we had a balcony which stops claustrophobia. Dining in the Empire room was not up to the standard of our last cruise and only 3 of 7 nights were satisfactory. The entertainment was only good for 4 of the 7 nights. Overall we were very dissapointed due to the fact that our 1st cruise was so good,
Cabin was small but comfortable, roomy enough for 2 people, and we had a balcony. Bed comfortable and ensuite was adequate. Room serviced daily
Have been there on a previous trip, It only has a small stretch of sand to sunbake on, the water is very nice & clean, the tours take you over the island to view churches and burial grounds and villiages, not that exciting.
