What a VAST improvement over my experience on Quantum! Both ships are beautiful, but Quantum was an utterly disastrous experience! RC obviously learned from the failures of the previous ship and applied their lessons to Anthem. From the moment we arrived at the port, the entire atmosphere was back to RC's high standards! Staff has always been of highest standard on the RC ships. But unlike on Quantum, they appeared to be genuinely happy to be there! Perhaps it was because they knew that the ship was ready to sail, and not doomed to failure. They were extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. Simple little touches, like the champagne welcome, gifts in the staterooms, and special pricing do not cost RC much, but make up for it tenfold in the enjoyment it brings to its guests....and returned cruisers.

EVERYTHING WORKED! We experienced no breakdowns, as had been the experience on Quantum. Internet access and speed was as advertised, not as delivered (NOT delivered) on Quantum. Our Jr Suite was beautiful. While having partially adjusted to the new Dynamic Dining concept, I miss the "My Time Dining" benefit of meeting new people. The only recommendation, since Dynamic Dining is here to stay, is to offer the opportunity to sit at a table with other people to provide the same "get acquainted" benefit.

The ports we visited, Vigo, Gijon and Bilbao in Spain and LeHavre in France, were enjoyable. The only negative was the "Panoramic Galicia" tour in Vigo, which was primarily dialogue on the bus and a visit to a scallop shell adorned church. I had hoped to visit Mont St Michel in France, but unfortunately interest was not sufficient for the trip, which was cancelled. However, the full-day Paris tour without lunch was worthwhile! It provided a great "appetizer" for a longer, more extensive trip in the future!

Cabin Review

Cabin Jr Spa Suite

Our Jr Spa Suite was beautiful! With two friends traveling together, the separate toilet/sink and sink/tub/shower was a benefit! There was also a good deal of storage! We request that beds be separated, however due to the additional storage on each side of the bed, the bedside storage could not been moved in between the beds because the closet doors would be too difficult to open...Not that big of a negative that it couldn't be overlooked.

Port Reviews

Southampton

The port was easy to navigate. If there had been more time, it would have been nice to venture out into the town and explore more. It appeared that there were many things to do and see within close proximity.
