Our cruise date was April 19, 2015. Our group consisted of two couples in their early thirties and one in their sixties. Embarkation was okay, primarily because we had purchased "Faster to the Fun" which gave us priority boarding. Our cabins had adjoining balconies that were very enjoyable after the doors between them were opened or removed. The cabin service was excellent, but I missed having the small coffee pot that Norwegian provides. On Carnival, you have to call room service for morning coffee. That wasn't to much of a burden because room service is also excellent. Our overall cruise experience was okay except for a pushy waiter trying to sell us a more expensive wine than the one I chose. He actually served the more expensive wine without telling us and tried to charge me for it. When I complained , he said that the wine he picked was better! After I complained they actually took away the remainder of the wine including the filled glasses and brought us a bottle of the wine I had originally chosen. After dinner my wife visited guest services and found that I had been charged for not one but three bottles of wine, two of the expensive bottles and one of the cheaper ones. The cost of the wine was $29-$33 per bottle plus gratuities. Guest services did drop the charges for the two bottles of wine and actually gave us a free bottle of the "better" wine. All this for a bottle of Muscato that costs $7-$10 at a grocery store. In addition, the waiter seemed hyper the rest of the cruise, probably because we complained.

Other services on the cruise were okay. We enjoyed the Steakhouse, although the meal took almost two hours from the first course to the last. The ladies enjoyed the spa, but it was pretty pricey. The shore excursions were hit or miss, the general food quality at the buffets and the main dining rooms was described by most of our group as senior citizens home quality. Debarkation was and always is a pain, but since we had paid for priority embarkation and debarkation, we got to leave after the self carry luggage people left and just before general debarkation started. My only other comment is that when you're cruising on a huge ship with thousands of people and paying a moderate cost, you can't expect gourmet meals. In conclusion, if you're looking for a pleasant cruising experience without high expectations, Carnival Dream is fine.
