This world cruise was a big disappointment when compared to Arcadia's 2010 world cruise.
P & O's pre-departure administration was poor and error prone. The embarkation was appalling. The ship's interior is drab and shabby with badly marked bulkheads, scuffed furniture, tape holding things together and numerous water leaks. My cabin had a visible dent in the mattress and the window's double glazing was blown. There were four electrical problems in the cabin of which only three were repaired. Plated meals in the main restaurant made a travesty of the supposedly fine dining. The food was pleasant but the menus were highly repetitive. The volume in the theatre was ear splitting and requests to turn it down even slightly were refused. Very few well known entertainers or lecturers were employed. Reception staff were unreliable.
The staff were pleasant and hard working but had considerably more to do than in 2010.
There was a visible dent in the mattress and the window's double glazing was blown.
Of four electrical faults only three were repaired.
The stewardess worked tirelessly over her enormous number of cabins and kept them spotless.
