Sail Date: Apr 2015

We sailed out of Miami and our embarkation was normal, no issues and friendly helpful staff. Our cabin was on 6 th floor close to elevators but above the Alchemy bar, so if booking cabin 6441 can have nightly noise. The cabin was clean with a nice balcony and larger than most I have been in, but in the age of technology it was strange to have only one electrical outlet, so with two phones and a laptop it was a problem. Sadly the computer issues on board are awful, it is expensive and slow.

We enjoyed the staff, everyone was efficient and friendly throughout the ship.... It was a big plus. The biggest issues we had were with the new "American Dining" menu ... There were a few highlights but night after night of the same re- invented food, it was awful. The first night vegetable lasagna stood out, but dry fish, raw meat, cold vegetables and tasteless desserts leave room for a major dining improvement. The saving grace was Guys burgers, the taco/ burrito spot and the seafood spot ..... But the seafood and taco place close early and the burger spot is only open till 6:30 pm. The buffet has more salad/ pasta and veg choices and I found that the food there was much more flavorful and appealing than the dining room. This has never been my experience on a cruise EVER. After hours you have a pizza parlor that stays open and a pay dessert counter for special coffee etc. Breakfast was always good though. I can only review the comedy which was good. The pool area was never too crowded and the adult area is nice.

The ship seems dated and small, during the formal nights you can hardly walk through the ship due to a massive amount of photographers ... More than I have ever seen. All in all would I cruise Carnival again probably not. If it wasn't for a private musical Jamboree at Sea that we stumbled upon I was tearfully bored. Grand Turk is a wastes of time .. Simply "Margaritaville" a Jimmy Buffet restaurant with a pool ::: period. Nothing else on the island so don't go looking..... It is the other side of the island that the ship does not go to which is beautiful. So sorry bout the negative post but a heads up might help to plan for you

Port Reviews

Grand Turk

Great if you get off of ship and grab a lounge in the sand... Realize there is nothing else on the island but bad conditions. It is the other side of island that is nice, this port is simply Margaritaville and a few shops and I mean a few. You can eat and drink at Margaritaville and swim in their pool ::: big deal

San Juan

Have been to PR multiple times and did not expect Old Town to be a ghost town of emptiness . Take a tour to the fort or rain Forrest and eat some mofungo

St. Thomas

Great port lots of water sports if you book them and lots of shopping mostly Jewelers. People friendly and beautiful water. The island is clean and the beaches are great to snorkel

Half Moon Cay

This is a ship owned port and good to try at least once ::: nothing really to do but get some sun and drink unless you book an expensive package that is not worth it.
