My wife and I are age 63 and have been on 5 different cruise lines over the years. Royal Caribbean is our favorite.

We sailed out of San Juan on April 12th. We arrived a day early and stayed at the San Juan Airport hotel. We selected this because we thought we would originally arrive at 2:00 am and this would be easy. This hotel is extremely convient but if you want to go to town or anywhere in San Juan, you must take a taxi and your cost will add up quickly. $42 round trip. The hotel is small but nice. I would stay there again but only if I were going directly to the port.

We arrived at the port at 11:20 am and were on the ship in 25 minutes. We then went up to the Windjammer and just hung out. We were able to get in our rooms at 2:00 pm and our all of our luggage arrived by 5:00 pm. Our ship did not leave port until 8:30 that evening. We were hoping that once we checked in we would be able to leave and walk around downtown San Juan. This ship did not dock where the smaller ships dock and walking to town would be quite a distance if you could walk at all. You would need to take a taxi and I had already paid enough for transportation ($83 total for four cab rides). There was however; plenty to do on the ship so it was not something that disappointed us that much.

The cabin was always clean and promptly taken care of. We have always had excellent service from RCCL and have never had a complaint.
