As a veteran Carnival cruiser, we had never sailed the Dream, so we scheduled a western Caribbean trip out of New Orleans.

We are platinum cruisers, so embarkation was a breeze. From curbside to deck 9 cabin - 16 minutes! Off to the Lido for lunch and a tour of the ship. The Dream is the largest Carnival ship we have sailed on, but it really didn't seem any different than the smaller ships - never seemed crowded either. The only thing we didn't like was the "you can't get there from here" layout - which basically means you had to learn how to maneuver decks 3,4 and 5 around the resturants.

After the indoor safety drill (which we really liked), we were off down the Mississippi! Sail away was fun and the cruise was on.
