Problems started when I first got onboard. During the initial baggage check, The crew confiscated a 16oz unopened bottle of ginger ale; I guess they were thirsty. I complained to the hotel director and he told me that the crew could not find the unopened bottle of ginger ale ans sent me a full 6 pack of ginger ale. The second problem occurred when I tried to use a coupon book my agent gave me. I was first told that Royal no longer accepted those coupons. When I went to guest service to inquire about them, I was told I had to be a Crown and Anchor society ti use those coupons. The hotel director and his assistant came out while I was telling the guest service's officer I hate to be lied to and was told that Royal would honor their coupon and the crew would be informed. The last incident was when I went to the stores and asked two different crew member to check the store room, for a specific item and they refused to honor my request. Off to the Assistant Hotel Director to resolve the problem, which he did.

The room, a fourth deck interior cabin was small, with inadequate closet space. The bathroom and shower were even smaller. The room made with the king size bed left very little, if any walking around room. Our room stewardess, Ida did a supper job and made us feel like a family member. The ship was smaller than we are used to and had no clubs, outside of the Schooner Bar. The evening dance floor was the atrium.

The specialty restaurants had excellent food and the service was as good as any 5 star restaurant we have ever dined at. The food in the dining room, was very good except for the night I ordered Thai prawns and got shrimp and their were no peanuts in the food. The menu that night, even thought the recipe they showed me called for peanut oil, had no peanut notification on the menu. The other problem with the food was, it was to top heavy with salt that ruined the flavor of the meat. The wait staff was impeccable and knew us by name, which breads we liked and what beverages we drank with out meals. The mater-Di also know us by name and room number.

Cabin Review

Interior Stateroom

Cabin M

Cabin was small, the bathrooms were even smaller, had no luggage storing space and with the room set up as king size bed had very little if any walking room. Like I told one guest, our room was so small, I had to step outside just to change my mind. Our cabin stewardess, Ida, made us feel like family.

Baltimore

I found the luggage check in to be a lot more proficient than our last cruise. The part where they take the pictures for the ships card during the check in very proficient and a time saver from the one they used on our last cruise; as you boarded.
