Everything on this cruise FAR exceeded our expectations, with a very few minor exceptions: 1. Lido deck dining constant and substantial vibration on upper floors 2. A/C was marginal but not uncomfortable 3. Disembark for Half Moon and Final destination was unmonitored by HAL staff and some select people worked hard to break line. Overall found HAL Cruisers friendly and polite, based on median age of group. Evening entertainment was also based on that median age group, but still first quality and fun. Staff was exceptional! We arranged many of our own private excursions so unable to give a fair rating in that area. Email me at wilkinsnc@aol.com if you want suggestions for affordable semi private excursions we found for St. Kitts, St. Maarten, Barbados, St. Vincent and St Croix. Spend the extra $15 for the clam shell at Half Moon Cay ( Shade or shelter ) depending if you get hit with a 10 minute rain shower like we did. Bring #70 SUNSCREEN. Don't get sunburned and let it ruin your vacation.

Cabin Review

Cabin HH312
Standard Room with large window looking out onto walkway deck 6th level. Was concerned over other cruisers being able to look in but that was not an issue with deck longue chairs in front of window. Very limited view of water due to steel ship structure. A/C was marginal - never got cold in room. Hairdryer, soap, shampoo and beach towel provided. Luggage fit well under bed. Bring power strip - only one plug in whole room - none in bathroom. Has electronic safe - you set the code. has couch and small round table.
tub/shower setup. Laundry Room on same floor - very convenient and cost effective so don't pack so much. Lighting in room was marginal and never could figure out how to turn the multitude of switches on/off on the first try......

Port & Shore Excursion Reviews

$55 per person gets you full access to an A+ facility. Good Drive from Port, but ask you cab driver to give you a brief tour along the way. For $55 you also get mael / drink voucher for a great lunch. Mahi Mahi tacos were great! Also try the local beer- smooth. After asking about local artist, our cab driver recommended a local mahogany wood carving artist. This was a very special once in a lifetime visit to the artist home and shop.

$15 for 2 people/charis under a clam shell ( shade or shelter ) depending on the weather. Best beach of all the stops - almost like mud so soft and clean - wasn't a fake set up like I envisioned. Good paths/walkways and other facilities to visit. you will Tender from Ship to shore - 5 minute ride max

Greay Adventure. Meet at approved location - remember there are several ship docks. Groovy van ride to lots of places: Downtown, SugarCane Plantation - rain forrest and crafty place to shop, next to Brimstone Fort way way up the single lane drive way. You will have fun trying to figure out the horn blowing and how they get the vehicles through the narrow gates. There are no hand rails or steps, just a steep gradual incline ramp for about 100 yards. AWESOME views and much appreciation for this large fort and the structure. Take time to read all the history info in the side rooms. back to cockleshell beach, rent the chairs and catch some sun and suds for a few hours. Paradise!

From port, taxi over to Cruzan Rum Factory. Very interesting behind the scene tour with (lots) of rum tasting at the end of the tour. Great job "Alex"! $ 8 per person but hey that was the first 2 drinks

The dive boat picks you up right beside the port dock. you never leave the gates. We felt like VIP's! This was undoubtedly the best excursion we took. Super clear water and beautiful structure. Sand dollars on the cocoa colored beaches. Saw lots of sea life. Hang on for the special Caribbean concoction in the cooler ;-) Guide is super interactive and has a good sense of humor - don't miss Serenity Dive!
