First I'd like to say, this was a last minute decision on a vacation, although we have cruise before on Norwegian once in Hawaii on the Pride of America and once in Alaska on the Norwegian Star, this is the first time we have cruise with our entire family (Wife and two Children 7-16) As for the Norwegian Getaway We enjoy our vacation on it. This was our first time on a ship of this size with 4500 passengers and with my son being 7 and my daughter being 16 let's just say, they have different interests. and that is what is good about this cruise ship, there is something for everybody. now one thing that my wife and I noticed on this ship is that the kids pool was a little small even though it has waterslides and a kiddie pool to go along with it, its a very cramp area as far as seating for watching your kids, I think the engineers of this ship tried to put so much though of slides and gadgets that they forgot an area for parents to sit, remember 4500 passengers.

the only other downside to this ship is all the restricted area's for family with kids (H2O Zone) during the day ,Most if not all hot tubs on the ship except two, now I understand that they need to cater to the couples not traveling with children, but when on a cruise or any vacation for that matter, I don't care for the we shouldn't be in this area feeling. as for the amenities their our plenty too choose from Pools (Although Small) Waterslides, mini golf, Climbing wall, Teen club, Kids Club, Nightly theme parties, shows, more restaurants than you can eat at in 7 day's, casino, 24 hr Gastro pub you name they have it, including a mini bowling alley. The food on board was good, didn't do any of the (additional price) restaurants, but others said they were good. The cruise was a good vacation because it had little for everyone in our family to enjoy.
