Norwegian Breakaway is a very nice ship. I first took it in July 2014 to Bermuda, very pleased on how good the ship was despite mixed reviews. This trip I began to see what some of the poor reviews were talking about. Service is slow in some venues. O'Sheehans for example was a hit or miss. mozzarella stick were cold every time, fries and burgers were not hot, and the servers were not attentive to when your glass was empty. Food from the garden Cafe was also the same, it was cold if it was not just put out, or some dishes were just nasty. Meals in the specialty restaurant's were very good despite slow service. Cagney's SteakHouse was especially slow. The new room service is very good and worth the price

Shore Excursions are very pricy. The excursions always seem to be almost the same in every port. There is not really a variety. The excursion that disappointed me the most was the Behind the Scenes Tour. $80 per person for two hours. You tour entertainment, galley, provisions, laundry, environmental, and the bridge. Entertainment, provisions, laundry, and environmental were the most informative. the galley was a joke, all you did was walk through take a picture and that was it. you did not meet anyone who worked in there or anything. The bridge is the one part everyone looks forward to, but that was a complete joke as well. They do have a cool bridge with a lot of equipment. No one was there to show you around except the tour guide who showed you the wing on the port side and look through the glass and that was it. I expected to be shown around the whole bridge by the captain, or an officer, or anyone that actually works on the bridge. On the way out we did see the captain on his way to the bridge but he did not look really pleased, he had a smug look. In the environmental area we met with the captain who was going to take over in a few weeks, he was very informative and sociable, he was the highlight of the whole tour. If it was not for him i would of considered it a total waste of money.

Mid-Ship Balcony Stateroom

Stateroom was very clean. Steward consistently cleaned everyday. Although balcony glass was never cleaned.
