I took my daughter on this cruise originally planned for her graduation, but the reason changed to celebrating her life, she added her boyfriend. My friend cancelled out at the last minute and I was not excited about essentially going solo.......
In a rush for relaxation at the last minute we flew into Fort Lauderdale two days before the cruise. I chose a place on the beach with a 1bdrm suite at the Ocean Sky Hotel and Resort, sounded superb, but was anything but! I paid basically over &600 night for two nights, although due to flight issues I was there less than 23 hours. The quality was more of a 2 star than what was stated. There were two great things, Meano the tiki hut bartender and the beach.
The good...
The cabin was perfect. Of course could always use more outlets, but knowing that brought along the power strip. Room temperature was difficult at times, couldn't turn on the fan or cool the room.
Simple and basic, lots of people, lots of luggage, but ran fairly smoothly. Traffic control could be implemented to be more efficient as several cars rudely cut in front.
Mainly we slept in and then opted for some quick shopping right there off the ship. Everything was easily accessible and wonderful entertainment. An easy on and off.
