We picked Adventure again because of the ports. Getting on the ship was a breeze. We left our hotel around noon, dropped off our luggage and we were on the ship by 1:00. We went up to the Windjammer for lunch and then walked around the ship a bit. We went to see where our dining table was and took pictures of different areas without crowds. Right at 2:00 our room opened and shortly we had one small bag delivered. We didn't get the other two bags until around 5:00. We had a superior balcony stateroom and always book this type of room. I noticed new deck chairs and table were one of the improvements. The other was the bed mattress which after the first night I had to order a memory foam topper, this still wasn't enough so I found another mattress topper packaged under the bed and put that one on too. This made for a much more comfortable bed. The flat screen tv was new also and I liked seeing my account everyday.

We ate three nights in the dining room, three nights in the windjammer and one night at Giovanni's. The dining room food was just so so nothing really spectacular. I enjoyed the appetizers and desserts more than the main meal. I usually like a Cosmo with dinner but for the price of $12 and the small size of the drink, I opted for a glass of wine $8. Glasses of specific wine were limited unless you wanted the whole bottle.

The windjammer had a nice variety of food but walk around the whole area before deciding what you want to eat. We found different items on one side that weren't on the other.

Port Reviews

St. Thomas

St Thomas we went to Megan's Bay. We got a bus/taxi for $8 a person. The people limit is 16 but our driver jammed in 22 people even charging toddlers on laps $8. This was my least favorite place for taxi drivers. We've always run into the same problem here with people being herded into taxis sitting right on to of each other. Megan's bay was absolutely beautiful! Warm crystal clear water and powdery soft sand. Drinks at the bar were inexpensive and food was edible. Get there early and walk a little further pass the bar for a nice shady spot with a picnic table. This beach did get busy because we had three ships in port but we still loved it.

Aruba

Always loved Aruba and have been here a few times on vacation. We got a day pass at the Occidental for $75 a person. This included breakfast, lunch, drinks, unmotorized water sports, beach chairs, ocean and pool. We had a great time here with two other couples. One thing do not get into a cab with a damp or wet bathing suit. My husband got thrown out of a cab, screemed at and had to pay $30 cleaning fee, for a damp suit. I would have challenged the female cab driver but my husband didn't want to make anymore of a scene. Even the hotel staff where we got the cab was mad at the driver for doing this to us and giving Aruba cab drivers a bad name.

San Juan

We love San Juan for before and after cruises. Old San Juan is great for culture, restaurants and walking around. Condodo area has a lot of stores, restaurants and good place to get cruise supplies.
