Sail Date: Feb 2015

This was my 40th cruise (19th on Carnival - have also sailed Princess, NCL, Celebrity, Disney & Royal Caribbean.) Due to cutbacks / downgrades in Entertainment, I don't plan to book another Carnival cruise.

Embarkation in San Juan was convoluted because they had forced the 1700 back-to-back passengers to disembark then re-board. Our Platinum boarding was somewhat delayed as we waited for them, but then we had to walk through the terminal to a different gangway because something wasn't working. Not a big problem.

I was sailing solo for the 10 days and booked an inside guarantee. I was assigned a stateroom that can accommodate 5 guests! With my online check-in, I requested two twin beds so stateroom attendant wouldn't have to bother with the 2nd bed or make up a king every day when I was using only one side. However, it was made up as a king and stayed that way throughout. Although a guarantee, my stateroom location was fantastic - close to the aft elevators. Room was quiet and had only one problem; bathroom light switch "sizzled" when I turned it on for the first few days, then it stopped working. I called for maintenance and they replaced the switch (after three attempts to fix it.) I would have preferred they do it during the day when I was out, but it was evening and I was in my room watching TV.
