We went on this cruise with several people following our favorite Troprock singer. Our group had 71 people in it. That part we enjoyed immensely.

The Captain and crew were friendly, except for the European gal at the customer desk (of all places). The boat has newer carpet and such, but is still somewhat tired. Our cabin was mildew smelling, and had veneer off several doors and pieces of furniture. It was apparent they had varnished over the damaged areas at the last refurbishing. also, the carpet and upholstery had several stains on it that Resolve could have removed. The bars never opened on time, usually 45-60 minutes late ( I guess they save money on the booze that way). Selection of wine and champagne was very limited. The buffets at breakfast and lunch were pretty good, and the shore BBQ was very good. However the dinners were mediocre at best. The first night I had a tough and strange tasting "top Sirloin strip with a slimy oil coating. Another night the Prime rib was cut so thin it was almost a slice of luncheon meat. No Lobster night, nor Crab, nor Grouper. The information said they use local fish. Well Salmon is not native to the Caribbean. I have had better food on 2900 passenger Carnival ships. My bet is the chef will not be on this boat very long, They tried to force mediocre Pinot Noir on us five of the seven nights, and when I asked for a different red selection, they fought bringing it. We struggled to get the right items in our fridge in our cabin also. I could not get through to them to not put cheap Budweiser and Miller beers in it. I finally got a couple of Beck's and Heinekens.

I did like the itinerary of small Caribbean ports, but that didn't make up for the other mediocrities. The show thew crew performed for us on the next to last night was very good, with a several people who could really sing!

Jost Van Dyke

We went to the beach bars. We had a drink, and a snack, We saw a lot of over-served post teens, and Jimmy Buffett wannabees. One Caribbean bar is much like another. The taxis are a bit expensive, but that is to be expected. But the water is a beautiful shade of tuqoise, and the sand and surf plentiful.
