Background: Couple in early 50s, no children, 3rd cruise in as many years, what we like: good food, comfortable bedding, clean & cozy rooms, glass shower doors, attentive steward, fun and lively pool area, fun music throughout the ship, cool bars and lounges to hang out. We have never booked excursions through cruise line, we rarely go to theater, we usually travel with many more couples so we make our own fun. We always buy the beverage package.

I explained all of that because we LOVED our Celebrity Constellation cruise. In fact, if our steward had been better and we had not experienced the rudeness from someof the staff, I would have given it 5 stars.

So - negative first (because there wasn't that much): We are not demanding but having been next to a suite on the Brilliance and having one of the best stewards we know now how it should be. All we wanted from ours on Constellation was to receive what was advertised. We rented an Aqua room and we were to get quite a few extras but we had to ask for quite a few of them, whereas our friends in Aqua rooms with different stewards had everything in their room automatically. He was hardly ever seen by us or either of our friends next to us. He showed up after a complaint was made. Rudeness of staff - mostly service desk (to friends, not us directly) and bar staff. Having said that, there were some really good bartenders that made up for the others, and the staff in the main dining and the buffet were some of the best we have ever had. The muster drill went way too long. Worst one I have ever been through. I think it was because about 16 people didnt bother to show and we had to stand and wait. Eventually they let us go but called out the names to report to service desk. Debarkation was also pretty lengthy. One good thing, we were able to sit around the pool until 10:30 before we had to get off. Since our plane didnt leave till 2:30 that was better than the airport BUT that meant we entered a very long line for customs when we finally did get off.

Aqua Class Balcony

Cabin A1

Clean, comfy, loved the large shower and not having to take shampoos and shower gel with me. I was concerned after reading reviews about stains and tears but our room was nice. I did notice a tear in the bed skirt but only after getting down on my knees to pull out our luggage the last day. Also was concerned because this room was under the pool area and it has a large overhang - I mean very large. Definitely cannot see above you so probably wouldn't want this if I was on Alaska cruise or one for views but it was nice to have constant shade and we loved it. We did hear scooting of furniture starting around 6 am right above us, especially on the first morning until we got used to it.

Port Reviews

Key West

We did our own bar hop basically and just walked the streets of Key West. We loved this place and would love to go back and stay. We did walk to the Southern Most Point for a photo and there was a long line but we were able to get a decent pic without waiting in line. Our favorite bar was Irish Kevins!!! Great entertainment and atmosphere.
