This was my fifth cruise, but first for my husband and boys, ages 10 & 9. Size of the ship was perfect for the number of passengers. It never felt crowded. Windjammer food was great for a buffet. Lots of variety and good quality. I especially loved the coffee, not your typical swill you will find most places, but good roasted coffee. You also had the option of private paying for coffee at the starbucks on board.
Main dining room food was also good. I recommend all of the baked to order soufles on the desert menu, and the CRAB CAKES!
On board entertainment was good, with a lot of variety. My 10 year-old (almost 11) did not enjoy the kids club. He felt he was too old for the offered activities, and would have enjoyed more competitive sports. But my 9 year-old enjoyed it, as did my 9 and 5 year-old nieces.
We booked an inside cabin because we are broke, and believe it or not, there was plenty of room for all of our stuff. I had gone out and purchased a shoe rack and removable hooks due to other critics recommendations, but did not end up using either. There was plenty of storage space in the tiny bathroom for all of our toiletries. The small shower took some getting used to, at first the water flooded the bathroom floor, until we determined that pointing the removable shower hose at the wall prevented this. There is not much water pressure in the bathroom sink, so we used the shower for getting the sand off our suits and water shoes. Stateroom attendant was kind enough to clean up the vomit and diareah from my boys sea sickness and too many cookies.
Absolute paradise. The beaches were beautiful and the atmosphere with the mountains and trees and landscaping were breathtaking. Service on the island was also terrific, they got us a beach cover (umbrella) and chairs together and were very helpful in all aspects.
