I was on a cruise with 25 friends. As a group vacationing, we had a great time, but honestly that had more to do with being on the ship with lots of friends and the planning that went into our vacation by our 2 friends celebrating their 50th birthdays. I am an regular cruiser. I am a Silver member with Latitude. I have cruised many cruises with RCL (Royal), NCL and CCL (Celebrity). I have enjoyed Norwegian before, but I have to say I loved it more before free-styling cruise concept. Yes it had it's problems but so does free-style cruising.
Where is the difference... SERVICE!!
Quite simply this was the first cruise where my service was not up to par with the few dozen cruises I've done. Cabin was not cleaned regularly, even when placing the sign to "Makeup Room" before going to dinner. Would go to dinner, go to a show and come back by 11p or so and twice my cabin was not cleaned on a 9 night cruise. We don't like our cabin cleaned often because we are usually sleeping at odd hours during vacation. So the first 3 days we kept the Do no disturb sign on. So it's not like they had to clean the room twice a day for 9 days either. I would say I wanted my room cleaned 5 times out of 18 times they're suppose to do it, two of those times it was not done. That's saying a lot. Now also mind you, we were leaving cash tips on the bed for our room steward with a note stating what we needed and what we didn't want them touching while cleaning. ie. More ice please, and/or please don't remove food or coffee brought to the room.
