We booked our cruise a year in advance and was very excited but it was short lived. We were suppose to board the ship at 12:15 but due to a virus outbreak on the cruise before us it was delayed. That was understandable and I was glad that they took extra time to sanitize the ship before we boarded. We didn't board the ship until around 2 p.m. and from that moment on it was a total nightmare. We had to drag our carry on around most of the day as we were not allowed in our cabin until after 7 o'clock in the evening. Then our luggage didn't make it to our room until after 8. We went on this cruise with our son and daughter in law to spend time with them as we live many miles apart and we don't get to see them as much as we would like. Our cruise planner made reservations for us to have all of our dinners together however we were only able to have dinner together twice... The cruise line changed our reservations. I know this because when we docked in Florida I called her and asked her why she changed the reservations. She explained that she did not and that she would call the cruise line and try to straighten it out. When we got back on board we saw where they did change our reservation so that we could enjoy two dinners with our children. Everything was already booked and that was the best they could do. My husband ordered us robes, slippers, champagne and rose petals to surprise me however it was not a surprise when he had to ask for them in front of me. After much confusion on day five of our cruise they finally arrived. The surprise was blown and my husband was very upset. There was no supervision of the kids/teenagers on this ship. They were actually taking over the ship and running around all hours of the night being very loud and rude. The rules were not enforced and they were taking over the adult area, we couldn't even go into the adult pool as there was no room. Now don't get me wrong, I don't mind children or teenagers, I have children and grandchildren but there was NO supervision whatsoever. Granted that this was not the Quantum's fault, it was the fault of the parents however again, the rules were not enforced. The kids were all supposed to be in their cabins by 1 a.m. ( which in my opinion was way to late for kids) but they were out running around way beyond the curfew. I do have to say that our room steward was excellent!!! She went beyond the call of duty for her guests and the rooms were spotless. We was in room 9252 and her name was Marcia. Anyone who is lucky enough to have her as their room attendant will be very satisfied. The shore excursions were excellent as well, we did have a fantastic time while we were at port. The quantum is a beautiful ship but it has a lot of bugs that need worked out. There are way to many passengers to be able to enjoy the on board activities in the allotted times that they are operating. It was impossible to be able to enjoy the bumper cars, the ifly and the flow rider as the hours of operation can not possibly fit all of the passengers into the schedule. We are planning on another cruise next year but we have decided to try another cruise line. We were very disappointed with this cruise for the price. One last thing, if you get the soda package it is very hard to get something to drink other than water after 11:00 unless you carry your drink cup with you at all times. The soda machine will only work with your drink cup and if you ask someone in the windjammer to get you a soda from behind the drink station they will not do it, they simply will tell you that it is closed even if someone is standing behind the station. It would kill them to put some soda in a glass for you. I mean my goodness it takes all of 5 seconds. Do not leave your soda cup in your room if you want something to drink. You must carry that big glass everywhere you go or be thirsty.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E1

The cabin was very nice and it had a lot of storage. The bathroom was larger than I expected it to be however the toilet was very loud when you flushed it but all in all it was very nice. The room attendant was excellent and very friendly. The balcony was excellent and the only complaint would of been no outside light. It was ok though, we just left the curtain open in the cabin when we went outside to sit on the deck at night. It was very relaxing sitting on the deck at night feeling the ocean breeze.

Port Reviews

Bayonne (Cape Liberty)

We did not do an excursion at this port. We did however go to liberty park on our own. It is a beautiful park and well worth your time to walk through.
