First I have to tell you that I normally don´t write reviews for this site. But I have heard it being mentioned so often, this past week, that I do feel the need to give my opinion.

My family joined the transatlantic cruise guests for the last week of their stay on Costa Mediterranea(a very good 6-night-deal was offered in Belgium and the Netherlands and we decided to take it). We are experienced cruisers. We are from Europe and have sailed on many cruise lines. As a couple and as a family.

Cruisecritic was mentioned by several different American guests, when complaining to staff of the Costa Mediterranea. I literally heard "you just wait until I write about your service on Cruisecritic-dot-com". I decided not to say anything on board, but want to describe my honest experience, from a European point of view. And would like to tell you that we met many great US guests and had wonderful conversations(so this is not about generalizing in any way).

Cabin Review

Cabin B9

By now, I have checked out about all categories in Costa cabins. Indoor cabins are great value for money. And sufficient for up to 4 People. We now had a balcony. I didn´t like the fact that neighbours spent a lot of time smoking on their balconies. But I did like watching the sunrise in my PJ´s and I especially loved the view of Trieste by night, drinking a glass of wine, cuddled up in a blanket on my balcony! The size of the Veranda cabin is similar to the outside cabins.
