Our family group of 6 ranged in age from 6yrs to 76, and being discerning and relatively intelligent people, we can with little hesitation state that Voyager had a good run filled with a pack of whiny whingers.

The staff were without exception brilliant. We all felt well cared for, the ship was clean and tidy (if not completely refurbished), and despite the odd area of salt smeared glass, we had no complaints.

Not so with some of our fellow passengers. Firstly, please note that the average age for cruisers on our 16 day adventure was well past the 60's. A large number of these passengers were past frail and heading towards infirm, and this was not helped by a flu virus hitting the ship half way through the voyage. The medical facility was very well used!!

Cabin Review

Superior Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D1

Superbly located starboard cabin on the "hump" and right next to the aft elevator bank. Very convenient for people unable to walk long distances as straight up to Windjammers, or straight down to Main Dining Room. Busy corner so avoid if you don't like passers by, but we had no noise issues at all.

Cabin was clean though bathroom not updated in recent renovation. Plenty of space for 2 adults and 1 child to store clothes, luggage and paraphernalia as long as you remain organised. :)

Port Reviews

Sydney (Australia)

Love Sydney, if in port for a day or two, I recommend the Hop on Hop off bus service. $40 per day (2015 pricing), and shows you all the highlights with good commentary.

Picton

We didn't expect much of this port, but were soooo mistaken! Fabulous scenery, gorgeous little town built for tourists. We recommend hiring a car and taking a drive around the area. The trip from Picton along the Queen Charlotte drive is magnificent!

Wellington

The shuttle service was very convenient, plenty of taxi's if required, and some fabulous scenery. Te Papa museum is great if you enjoy museums. Plenty of cafe's and restaurants near the museum, and the museum cafe serves brilliant sausage rolls. :)

Dunedin

Beautiful town with some fascinating history! Gorgeous buildings.

We did the Taieri Gorge train ride... 6 hours was probably a bit much for a single day in port, with no time for anything else. Would recommend for train enthusiasts, but maybe a shorter trip for everyone else. :)

Melbourne

Brilliantly organised by the City of Melbourne. Information provided at disembarkation, special buses straight to the centre of town, with more information volunteers waiting. The tourist shuttle (with commentary), is great, but you cannot go past the Queen Victoria Markets for some indulgent shopping time. :)
