We booked the spring break 4 nite cruise to take our 18 yr granddaughter as a graduation present. We also tried out an interior room for the first time. Being Royal Caribbean cruisers with balconies we were curious to see the differences between the two cruise lines. Grandaughter is a vegetarian but we recently discovered she has a lactose intolerance and we were trying to reduce gluten. Unfortunately selections of food were sparse but the wait staff tried extra hard to help us with food selections. Chef made excellant desserts for her which kept us coming back each nite. Bingo was a bust had to buy daubers! Being 18 but still a senior, she tried to attend the 15-17 party the first nite, staff kicked her out and told her to go to the nightclub. Do I really want my gdaughter to be in a nightclub where there is alcohol? She met a few friends her age with nothing to do, so they spent time in the casino, played bingo and hung out in the hot tub. There were no activities for 18 yr old high school students except gambling watching the adult shows, bingo and the hot tub. We live in Reno and I am in exec mgmt in a casino.... high schoolers should not be gambling. I'm disappointed that the age group 18-20 have nothing age appropriate. Overall, she had a great time, food was ok, alot of younger kids running all over the place, some bad parenting, but heres the worst part... I NEVER SAW ANYONE USE THE HAND SANITIZER GOING INTO ANY OF THE FOOD VENUES. One time the sanitizer wasvin the plants out of the way. No one stood by to squirt it in your hands and i did not see alot of public area cleaning. As convenient the LA port is for us in NV, i dont see us taking another carnival cruise.
Acceptable. No hair dryer, only one outlet, nothing special
You have to take a bus from the ship to the front of the pier. While on the bus, we were given a sales speech to get a ticket for discounted trip to the blowhole and open air market. For 15 bucks ok... pathetic blowhole, open air market crafts were made in china except for one store that had oaxan art, habana banana is expensive and you have to pay cash. I'll stay on the ship. Ensenada is poor, ghetto like and dirty.
Did nothing in LA. Easy to end up in places you shouldnt be. We stayed at a best westernthat we had stayed in years before. Not in a good neighborhood
We rented a golf cart prior to arriving and got to drive it for 3 hrs. We drove the island, picked up some sandwiches and saw the island. The weather was chilly.
