To make this short and sweet I will say I was largely impressed with the ship. I'd seen lots of complaints from people online regarding the state of the ship's repair, but I found no issues. I am not a luxury cruiser, just an average consumer. So, when I embarked I had lightened expectations.

Embarkation needs some attention. There was miscommunication with the staff and it caused some temporary outrage with passengers. Once inside the terminal doors, the process was surprisingly quick. I believe it was fifteen minutes from entering the building until standing in the Piazza of the ship.

Staff, many of them were fabulous. Several need to be retrained. Our steward, Daniel, and our MDR waiter, Randolf, were very polite and cordial. The pool bar staff were rude on embark day. I stood by the bar for a total of ten minutes before being addressed, as the bartender chatted with other ship staff. I am not a fan of the whole manned buffet thing and much prefer to help myself while there. Unfortunately, this ship featured an exceptionally rude attendant at the Horizon Court buffet. I witnessed her turning an individual away because the individual had on swimwear that was covered up. She scolded the passenger in front of other guests and demanded that she go, "dress up." The buffet is directly beside of a pool, for Pete's sake. People are going to enter in swimwear and flip flops. Perhaps they should designate Horizon Court for casual and swimwear, then have Caribe Cafe be a more refined buffet experience. I also had a less than pleasant experience with a Guest Services desk member informing me that I could not add cash to my onboard account... after I had already done so twice. She tried to convince me that I had no choice but to draw off of my credit card. I insisted she was wrong, she went back and spoke to management and came back to inform me that she was wrong. There were many occasions where I found myself confused, wondering if I was the paying customer or not.

Cabin Review

Cabin E

This cabin was very pleasing to the eye. We liked the layout better than we liked the layout of our Carnival cruise cabin. When you enter the room, there is a small hallway to the right that features a substantial closet space and safe. The bathroom door is in this tiny hallway area. The bathroom was standard, cruise ship size.

The room featured two twin beds and two night stands. Also, a vanity table area and a mini fridge and bar. The television was a flat screen.

If you are going to go for an obstructed oceanview to save money, then choose cabin E415. We had a very substantial view that we weren't expecting. There were equipment items to the left and right our window, but it did not hinder us being able to see out onto the ocean or the ports.
