This beautiful cruise was my 24th overall and 7th with Celebrity. I cannot make enough positive comments about the ship and the itinerary. Embarkation was lightning-quick when we arrived at port around noon. The only hiccup once onboard was a failure to link our credit cards - resolved quickly at guest relations. The Summit is gorgeous. She is easy to navigate, clean, and beautifully decorated. We usually pop into the spa for their embarkation tour, but this time around it was quite disappointing, with no raffle either. The ship is filled with lovely art pieces and sculptures. Take a look around and you'll see the same. Being just at the tail end of spring break we had a few young people on board, but never any issues with their behaviors. Actually, the chair hogs out at the pool were the biggest problem we saw on our sea day. From start to finish, the food was delectable. QSine was a wonderful experience, the main dining room served wonderful soups, salads, and entrees - the duck, short ribs, lobster, and turkey dinners were stand-outs. Service is efficient in the MDR, but not as friendly as it used to be. This is a disappointment Celebrity!! We enjoyed the layout of the buffet - some items still buffet style, some items in clever little baskets for take-away. I loved the smaller plate options and the trays are super easy to handle. One interesting thing for us was that we never ever saw our cabin attendant. She popped in once to say hello and we never saw her again. Our balcony room on Deck 7 was super tidy, but we thought it interesting that she wasn't around - must be busy! Great deck for a cabin, by the way with easy access up to the buffet/pool area and just two decks down to dinner. The captain of this ship is one of the friendliest and wittiest we have ever seen. His daily quips were hysterical and the Captain's gala toast was quite memorable. The three men sharing cruise director's duties made the trip very enjoyable. We were quite surprised by the quality of the entertainment onboard. The piano player left a little bit to be desired, but all in all it was glorious - oh, and the comedian... hilarious!!! All public spaces were clean, and we thoroughly enjoyed Cellar Masters and Café al Bacio. We booked our shore excursions through Celebrity and every single one of them was perfect. Bike Tour in St. Croix, Catamaran/snorkeling in St. Kitts, River Tubing in Domenica, and a quick wander through Grenada. Can't wait for another Celebrity cruise - this one was magnificent!!!

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View with Balcony 2A

Cabin 2A

The cabin was adequate in size for two adults. I'd love a little more room, but then I'd have to pay for it. This room is just at the top of the stairways but there was very little noise. At night the light from the hallway peeked under our door, but that just made for a little nightlight in an otherwise very dark room. The balcony aft is a few feet larger than the rest of the 2A's on this deck. Loved it!

Port Reviews

San Juan

This port town is a wonderful start to your cruise. Old San Juan is easily navigable and walkable. Dining and night life are quite good with many restaurants and clubs to try out. Try the local mofongo, plantains, and chocolate!!

Grenada

Quaint little port town with a few shops and some stalls with spices. We walked all over and felt safe the entire time. Spotted a few churches, wandered up to the old fort and had an amazing lunch at a recommended spot on the harbor. Don't know if I can mention it here or not, but you'll find it - cool ocean breezes blowing through and a congenial host named BB.
