We just returned from a 31 day cruise to South America. It certainly was below average for Princess. Shore excursions were horrible and the fact that the shore ex. department lie made everything worse. We has a pre paid visit to a penguin rookery cancelled before the trip, because the animals migrated. This was a lie and we were never told that there was a trip to Magdelena Island where the penguins were there. Stop in Puerto Arenas was dangerous and everyone on this tour fell at least once, and my wife cracked a rib. The next trip was cancelled because "it was dangerous". It was slippery and very wet. The trip to Machu Picchu (a $5000.00 addition) was for 3 days. The last day was waste. We had lunch in Cusco, lunch on the flight back, and when we landed in Lima were taken to lunch instead of a tour of Lima. 50 people wanted to go back to the ship and were told that they could not do that, despite the fact that there were 5 busses. Don"t buy the Coffee Card. When we bought one a few cruises back, we were told it was good forever. It is not. I think the only person who had a really good time was the Captain, who spent the entire cruise with his family who were on board, in the pool and on excursions.
Clean, but needs up grading (carpet worn, furniture scratched, etc)
